Sharp, sharper, Carolina Reaper

In November 2013, Carolina Reaper replaced the then record holder "Trinidad Moruga Scorpion" as the hottest chili in the world. The fiery hot Carolina Reaper has a capsaicin content on a par with pepper spray.

This plant is therefore not particularly recommended for newcomers to chili cultivation. Not that growing the plants is particularly difficult - but you should already have enough experience to process these extremely hot chilies. Anyone who has ever rubbed their eyes after cutting chilies knows what this means.

Characteristics

This chilli plant grows quite bushy and reaches a height of approx. 90 cm. The hot pods ripen in a range of colors from green to orange to fiery red. The sharp spine at the bottom and the wrinkled surface make this variety look even more dangerous.

In terms of taste, "Carolina Reaper" is characterized (apart from its enormous spiciness) by its fruitiness with spicy notes of cinnamon and chocolate. However, due to their extreme spiciness, they are hardly suitable for pure enjoyment. These pods should be dried, pickled, frozen or processed directly into sauces.

Where do chili plants come from?

The plants are lovingly grown in a German nursery and sent directly to your home in special shipping boxes.
