Our colorful variety “Rote Emmalie” is also such an exotic species. It is something very special because there are not many red-fleshed potatoes in Europe. This newer variety was Potato of the Year 2018. Originally it was called “Red
Emma". The elongated-oval potato is very fine and creamy and tastes intensely aromatic. With its red skin and its even stronger red flesh, it is also a pleasure for the eyes.
You too can grow “Red Emmalie” and conjure up red-colored mashed potatoes, gnocchi , dumplings or colorful potato salad on your plate in no time.
