(N)ice Cream

Refresh yourself this summer with homemade strawberry ice cream, made from frozen strawberries and bananas - without an ice cream maker and with little added sugar. A high speed blender or strong hand blender is best for making this delicious sorbet. Serve the ice cream scoops with waffles, hips or our tip: cantuccini and fresh fruit. A pleasure without much effort!

Ingredients

  • 250g frozen strawberries
  • 1 large frozen banana (cut into pieces)
  • 2 tsp (birch) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 1/16 to 1/8 L hot water

    Probably the best refreshment of the summer - homemade strawberry ice cream made from strawberries from your own garden (or from SISSI STRAWBERRY on your own balcony) without any ice cream maker and with little added sugar!

    For this ice cream, we recommend either a high-performance blender or a strong hand blender, possibly even with several levels. Place the frozen fruit in a tall measuring cup, add the sugar and a splash of hot water over it and let it thaw at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Then slowly puree with a hand blender (or in a high-performance blender) with a little pressure. With a little patience, a wonderful sorbet will emerge in the next few minutes. You can let it thaw a little more, then put it in a (preferably sealable) storage container and put it back in the freezer for 20 minutes.

    Then use a tablespoon or ice cream scoop dipped in hot water to scoop out balls and enjoy with a waffle, hips or (our tip) with cantuccini and some fresh fruit!
