Late lettuce

Can't get enough salad? Then you will like this seed mix. Here we have chosen varieties that are ideal for the late season, as they are best sown in mid-summer (August to September) after the last harvest. These salads are ready to harvest from the end of October. But don't worry about the frost! The Sugarloaf lettuce variety, for example, definitely needs at least one frost to maintain its typical, strong aroma.

Varieties included

Escariol is a very tried and tested winter endive salad with large, heavy heads. It is very robust and is characterized above all by its resistance even in unfavorable weather.

The radicchio (Palla Rossa) forms well-closed, round and firm heads. The leaves are intensely wine-red in color and have white ribs. This variety also tolerates light night frosts and can be grown in autumn without any problems. Already knew? Radicchio has a positive effect on blood formation and the cardiovascular system.

The uniform, early selection of the sugarloaf chicory salad impresses with densely filled, high-necked, bag-shaped heads. It also tolerates frost and can be stored very well until March. Tip: The slightly bitter, pithy taste is softened by increasing maturity and by briefly soaking it in lukewarm water.
